Busy 6 Months for Business

It’s been a busy six months for Ham Baker Pipelines. A regular supplier to utilities projects across the UK, the team has recently won a number of competitive tenders and contract extensions including two mini-tenders for Scottish Water, a new framework agreement with Northumbrian Water and just this month a contract extension with Yorkshire Water.

In Scotland one order was for fabricated ductile pipe and fittings for a wastewater treatment plant at Dalbeattie where the contractor is Crown House Technology. An ongoing project, this involves the supply of a range of pipes from 80mm to 400mm diameter. A special requirement for this order was the inclusion of a spinning flange for a 400mm pipe which was specially fabricated to dimensions supplied.

At Cumnock, another wastewater project required a range of 350mm fabricated ductile pipe for a wastewater treatment project where the requirement was for 25% tape-wrapped pipe to cater for the ground conditions. Again, close liaison with contractor Barhale has been a key feature of the supply arrangement.

Ham Baker Pipelines General Manager, Darren Wood says: “A key element of our service is close liaison with water utilities and their contractor partners to ensure that the work-flow on site can go on uninterrupted. These contracts both involved competitive tenders and we were able to demonstrate an outstanding supply capability in order to win the business.”

In August Ham Baker Pipelines won a competitive tender under a new framework agreement to supply gate valves to Northumbria Water Ltd.

And we can also announce a new water extension, this time for Yorkshire Water with a two-year extension on ductile iron fittings EN454/EN598 which came into effect on 1st October.
